Division of Danao City was created and started its operation in SY 1962 - 1963, a year after Danao became a chartered city. The first appointed superintendent of the Division was the late Mr. Leocadio Momongan.

When Mr. Momongan retired from office, the late Mr. Esteban Ypil – academic supervisor in English, assumed the office as OIC. Later, the late Mr. Catalino de Lana was appointed as the second Schools Division Superintendent..
